She Glides: Watusi Tall

She invades
my sleep:
a dream
of summer
shimmering
beneath cypress
and palms
silhouetted
in albin sands

She glides
a dream vision
WATUSI TALL
Bearing morning
in sparkling splendor:
Her smile
opening above me

She surrounds me
in tropic aromas
Persimmon nutmeg
sassafras and sorrel

Her voice vibrates:
temple bells
in springtime
Aloft
on a low
languid breeze
Descending
from a plateau
high in the hills
Heard
in valley hollows
electrified in silence

Its echoing whisper
enwraps my sleep
I turn
in gold-flecked
coffee-darkness:
her enveloping eyes

Her silken
cinnamon skin
awakens my lips
to ancient bliss
Trapped
in remembrance
in my genes
Oh Africa
Oh Egypt
She invades
my sleep:
A dream
of regal splendor:
GLIDING WATUSI TALL
