I Swallowed Stars

When our eyes met
I swallowed stars
Felt the force
of starlight swell
searing my senses
Each inner irradiating ray
rose an evanesence
on my skin
Sent tremors soaring
from spine to brain
An ecstatic pain
of molten rain
Breaking ground in depths
of me long untended—
Undisturbed by starfire:
arcing acquiescence
in desire

The gray day
won an instant shine
I struggled over
starsteps
Gaining the region
of resonances' reign
I caught my voice's
ephemeral action
Wobbly as wooden shoes
on cobblestones
The pounding
in my head
heart's incessant drum
weighted by word's press
their anchoring accord
And I would
anchor you
with words, rays and...

When our eyes met
I swallowed stars...
