Wirth, Gay Rebel of the Harlem Renaissance (2002, Duke University Press) brings together the short stories and other prose, drawings, and paintings by the multi-talented Harlem Renaissance artist Richard Bruce Nugent. Wirth, a friend of Nugent, and his literary executor, provides a biographical essay of over fifty pages in the introduction to the volume.
